Advice For Choosing Electrical Training
Before handing over your deposit to any electrical training centre in the UK, consider the following:-
- If the website owned by the training centre doesn’t have a telephone number or location visable then they may they have something to hide. Insist on a telephone number and the address of the training centre you’ll be attending.
- Avoid “salesmen” who hassle you for training. Most training centre’s will not cold call you, or even keep calling you back after you have simply enquired about their training.
- If you need to fill in an online form to request information, rather than calling to speak to the training centre, you may not actually be dealing with a training centre, expect your details to be sold to their connected training centres.
- If a “salesman” needs to come out to see you before “you’re considered for the course”, don’t buy it, they’re just being pushy and will say “you’ve passed” so you feel more obliged to do the training.
- If you request to visit the training centre before you hand over your deposit and the company says “sorry, you can’t….” for some reason, hang up and ignore their calls. They’re probably one to avoid.
This information should be used as a guide. Please do make your own mind up and visit at least THREE training centres before choosing one that has a reputation and hasn’t hassled you into their courses. Ensure you have visited all three if you course if more than £500. Don’t just call them or let them call you!
